Well said. Nothing like an assclown to get people to stick up for Thompson, which he does deserve from the fans every once in a while. Despite the fact that his personality makes him sort of difficult to like, he has done a remarkable job. Something to be said for a guy that isn't in it for the attention or praise. He's the guy that doesn't mind being in the background...his only satisfaction comes from doing his job to the best of his ability. I mean the dude has nothing else in his life...no family to speak of at all and apparently no other social life, based on some of the somewhat enlightening articles (as much as can be expected for an intensely private person) done earlier this year. I'll wait until we make the playoffs to be sure, but I think Thompson clearly deserves a heap of praise from Packer Nation for the quick turnaround and superb picks that he made in this draft. This successful team is HIS...almost all the starters are draft picks brought through by Thompson. Pretty impressive to say the least. And as each day passes and Favre's reputation and play continue to deteriorate, you've got to respect TT's decision even more.
.
I think in a few years everyone will look back and have no choice but to recognize how much good he did for the team. Even if this season doesn't work out, the pieces are in place for a successful team for years to come (as long as the CBA doesn't screw that all up). He's got the most important piece locked up in Arod. Therefore the Favre Decision will be seen as his greatest, rather than the decision that would be his downfall as so many predicted.

And frickin' Clay Matthews. Thompson TRADED UP for the guy. Behind Woodson he is easily our defensive MVP. Brad Jones...a success from the 7th Round! Raji plays a position that doesn't get the stats but he's been a big time factor as well. Lang has been good when he's played and should start to come on in the future. And some of the young guys from the last few years are showing up big time as well. I don't mean to go overboard but looking back you have to view him in a better light these days...

Forecast for Monday night in Chicago: Mid-20's with a chance of snow. Let the swoon continue for my OLD buddy Brent.

A few months ago, everyone on the blog was bashing Thompson. I don't understand why you need to see another player on another team play poorly before you praise Thompson. He's made other decisions in his life besides Brent.

PACKERS that makes no sense. If someone told you to drop a stock that had been very successful for years and you listen to him and it goes on to be even more successful then the guy looks like an idiot and you'll be rightfully pissed and never listen to him again. If the stock drops off around the winter time, you'll be glad the guy told you about a young new company that has a bright future.

The success of Favre is extremely important to Thompsons legacy.

NickGPB: I know Brett was an important moment in Thompson's career, but I'm just saying that it sounds like Thompson's career is based entirely on Brett's success, when it's not. And anyway, Brett is doing well, but, statistically, Rodgers is doing better, so Thompson obviously made the right choice.

Whitlock is a typical 3rd class writer. All of his articles have little or no thought process behind it. I read them sometimes just for a good laugh. Most of the time I think "What?"

TT bashers are always fun to read, because most of the time they are just showing their own ignorance.

Good job on the web site. You have motivated me to grow a beard! BTW, my wife loves it.

Nice gray on the beard.

And, sorry, Aaron, but given what you wrote for the NYT and some of the posts you've made...you care. So do I. But we're still "True Packer Fans".

Rodgers would have been a great fit in Minnesota they would have owned the Pack for years to come.Anyone who followed the Pack in the 70's know how bad the qbs were.Remember John Hadl?
