I’ve been hearing rumblings that Murphy basically went down there at the behest of Goodell to try to work some resolution.

Either way the whole trip IMO just made the situation worse. Farve side convientently leaks information from private discussions to the press to try to put more pressure on the Packers.

If I am the Packers I quit talking to him about options altogether. I let him come to camp and I give him no shot to start. Rodgers is the starter and thats that. If Rodgers gets hurt then Farve gets a shot but not until.

If Farve wants his starting streak to continue then he can start talking to some teams but if he won’t cooperate then just put him on the roster as a backup and swallow the 12 million salary unless/until you get a trade offer thats decent and then let him go.

There’s going to be media problems either way, there’s going to be pressure on rodgers either way…its going to be a mess either way…so quit giving Farve ammo to make you look dumb, just let him come to camp and be the #2…its an expensive insurance policy for Rodgers but its not the worst option out there.

Exquisitely stated. Agree with every word.

I agree PRC. Just let him come and sit on the bench. Either his ego doesn’t let him do it or he gets a needed does of reality and humility.

If Murphy did go down at the behest of Goodell then I think he doesn’t look quite as bad. Yes, trusting Favre and his camp not to leak info is a bad idea, but when the commissioner wants you to go it would be hard to say no.

I don’t think you trade to the Vikings as some have said might happen because it just rewards Favre (and the Vikings) for creating this whole mess. Right now Chicago looks acceptable. Brett’s not done well in the cold, they have a young offensive line so he’d get pounded, and really no offensive weapons at all. But not Minnesota.

Agreed, PRC. Stop talking to Favre or his agent period. He’s proven too many times he can’t be trusted with information. If he is gonna act like a baby then put him in timeout.

Agree wholeheartedly. Let him mow the grass at Lambeau, since he seems to love that so much.
