As long as MM and TT are in GB the Favre legacy will remain squarely on your soil.

Enjoy the season. Did you catch that Tampa game?

How ironic. I though TT was finished working with over the hill 'old washed up guys'.... now we are getting Green who's been on the bench in Houston for the last 2 yrs off/on with injuries?

Maybe TT had an epiphany about 'old washed up guys' after visiting MN? (but why couldn't he get one who helped produce a 13-3 season).

Re: deflected PAT pass.

My memory serves me ill. I stand corrected. My apologies to the reputation of Ryan Grant.

That said, it still seemed a play more suited for Green than Grant.

Was just watching Grants highlight video from 2007 Seahawks snowbowl game. Not sure what happened between then and now other than a fatter paycheck, but Grant was actually running around other players for extra yards. Seriously.., he would run, then if someone was in his way, he would run around him and keep going. Sometimes he would even leave the center of the field towards the sidelines for some major yard gains.

I doubt that MM will deviate from his comfort zone. He abhors change. Grant will continue to be allowed to fail while Green is there only to show that TT HAS done something positive. If only coaches and GMs didn't have such huge egos..............

I can see how this use for Green is a good idea, BUT WHY IS HE RETURNING KICKS!! He was absolutely worthless agains Minnesota. We need someone like Harvin. Of course, that's the least of the packers problems right now so I'll just shut up.

I've long argued that we've been missing a guy who can catch the ball out of the backfield. While we don't have the guy I was hoping for, Green is a significant upgrade in that department from the other guys on the roster. Now all we have to do is convince the coach to call some plays for him.

I mentioned this in the live blog. After that play I figured we'd see a lot more of him in the game.
.
It's sad that a washed up RB who hasn't played in a year is more explosive than Grant :(

In Grant's defense, the ball was deflected - that's a tough catch no matter who's in there.

Why is was Grant instead of Green in for the two point conversion boggles my mind. Where Grant bobbles and drops, Green habitually grabbed and gutted out two or three yards at least. It seemed a ready made play for Green to specialize in, yet the rut is set and Grant it was. Result - PAT FAIL, loss of momentum, the slow drizzling fizzle of defeat commences.

I agree Aaron, his presence will help, especially catching the ball. But, I sit here and wonder to myself just why am I getting excited about a guy we let go and had two non-existant years elsewhere.
____
The fill with draft choices theory is looking more and more tenuous every day. With the UFA's and no-cap coming up the upcoming off-season will be the most contentious since Sherman left. Sherman left TT with a bunch of Old Guys and after this season TT will only have young guiys. Unfortunately, not many have stepped up to their level of expectation yet.

Grant excells in 1-yard runs, goes down like a domino on first contact, and can't catch a pass to save his life. I was impressed with Green's catch and run, commenting at the time it was the first time in a long while I saw a Packer back break a tackle in the open field. I agree - more batman.
