First crack, great job.

Agreed on the "worst". I can link the video to anybody who asks me, "What went wrong?", and simply say, "Watch Aaron's analysis."

yeah, i was happy to see them stick with the Run game through out the game. Although I did want to see them try Harris more. His speed I think would have provided a change of pace that Lacy and Starks don't have. I would have liked to have seen him get more then 1 carry, late in the game.

For me the worst decision is going for it on 4th and 5. I think that decision was the turning point in the game. It was a broken play, They were arguing with the refs trying to get the time right and never ran the play right. It was setup for failure from the beginning.

I hated the decision because the 2-3 previous drives the defense did really well and if they could have pinned them inside the 10 it would have set them up nicely on the next drive.
Instead, They didn't make the 1st down, the defense did well and forced a punt, but then the ball was inside the 10 and then they got a safety. Which then they had a penalty on that safety which pushed the kickoff back and gave Seattle the ball with really good field position.

That decision to me cost them the game. That is why I consider it the worst decision in the game.

I didn't necessarily hate the decision to go for it - I always hate punting from the opponent's 40-yard line. But what I hated was that, when they realized that the play clock never got reset, they still tried to rush in a play rather than call timeout.

I usually don't mind the decision to go for it. In this case I didn't like it from the beginning.

They were down by 10 points in the 3rd Quarter. Not like they were down by 21.
Their defense played very well the previous 2-3 series, i would have much rather tried pinning them deep. That is the reason why i would have liked to have seen them punt there...

The part that made it worse was when they were arguing with the refs about the clock and never really got set. It was just a mess of a play.

I am not in favor of using timeouts early in the 2nd half, but in this case I would have preferred to of used a timeout to at least get everyone on the same page.
or in that situation, i would have been perfectly fine if they let the clock run out and punted.

It just felt to me like McCarthy panicked in the decision to go for it.

Umm.

If you let the clock expire on 4th down, you turn the ball over right there.

Delay of game on 4th down is a turnover on downs?

That can't be right - teams routinely let the play clock run out on 4th down in order to get more room to punt.

It would be a delay of game penalty. Not loss of down. They would have been penalized 5 yards.

I like this new segment. Keeping it balanced with positive and negative is refreshing. Good job AN. I like the music too.

Nice new segment.
Do you know if MM reads this site? He can't read everything and hopefully there is nothing new he and his coaches don't already know. But maybe one good thing about having one owner is that somebody is not afraid to tell the coach when he was just plain stupid!

Just sittin' back watching highlights of yesterday's games and taking notes of how every other team attempts to utilize their gifted offensive weapon(s).

La la-la-la-la.......

Does MM create plays or does he just call them? Who's creating our plays?

Yeah, I was disappointed with the lack of creativity. I was hoping to see Cobb used everywhere, backfield, reverses, whatever.

I have said it for a while, but I thought Harris could have added some juice to the offense too... He has the speed that Lacy and Starks don't have. I just would have liked to have seen a change of pace on offense.

And what happened to our uptempo offense? Finally ran it in the 4th quarter and guess what, it wore down the Seahawks defense.

Sounds just like me. I was in a heavy debate with Stroh about Harris. He's another gear faster and much more quicker than all of our RBs. He probably didn't get touches due to his poor ST play.

I don't know why he didn't get the touches. I think he deserves them. At least 5 carries a game I think he should be getting.

He provides a burst that Lacy or Starks don't. He hits the whole a lot faster to which puts a lot more pressure on the defense.

I just would like to see him get used more to provide the change of pace.

The worst is either our special teams or MM taking great talents and making them play different positons than where they have honed their skills. MM's love for "Versatility" has dumbed down several of what should be our key players.

Toss in a bunch of razzle dazzle on defense and our potential HOF players get humiliated by average players who practice hard and fast and execute a few plays extremely well.

The horse has been beaten to a pulp at this point, but I'm going to give it one last bullet to the head. The more I thought about it this weekend, the angrier I got and the more absurd the decision to avoid Sherman became. I've always thought of an NFL offense as complex and that head coaches are truly the top in their craft - strategic, intelligent, able to make sense out of a very chaotic game. Well, this past Thursday shot that theory right in the face.

The largely binomial "vacuum tube computer" approach to Coach McCarthy's decision to not throw Sherman's way, is quite simply, incomprehensibly idiotic. Carrol must have been jumping for joy the second he realized that his all-pro, top tier secondary had only to defend half the field through the air for the remaining 3/4 (roughly) of the game. Intentionally neutralizing our play-making depth. How he allowed for one player to have that much affect on our offensive game plan is beyond comprehension.

McCarthy deserves to be put through the ringer for that pathetic performance. I've been a big defender of his for years, admittedly even when he didn't deserve much defense. I'm starting to question whether he, or his staff, are able to evolve with an increasingly complex and strategic game.

I absolutely hated that idea the second I read about it.

What would make matters even worse is how many times Boykin actually came open (in Rodgers terms). Boykin has the size/hands/jumping ability to give Rodgers a nice passing radius. Not even a back-shoulder pass....

His assertion that by putting Nelson/Cobb on the left end of the formation, the Pack was somehow dictating the direction of the game was also ridiculous.

Hell, if the Hawks are going to shade Thomas toward the left side of the formation, essentially leaving Sherman on an island, why not throw Janis in there and tell him to "go deep". Sounds simplistic, which seems to be MM's style, but Sherman doesn't have a sparkling 40 time. He's a great defender, but he doesn't have Deon Sanders like speed. Why not force him to run stride for stride with a faster WR?

Pathetic coaching. If we are going to have inferior talent to elite teams, which we do. We need MM to occasionally step up. If anything, he and his coaching staff are trending in the wrong direction on this front.
