I think this Tweet is the appropriate response.
One season you're the idiot who got too conservative in the NFC Championship, next season you're the savior

I saw this on the ticker during the Redskins game. I want to say I'm happy but MM has been guilty many times of bone-headed calls. Something had to change though, and perhaps Clements was just designing poor game plans. I guess we will see what happens today.

Poor game plans and responding poorly to the flow of the game.
Although, Edgar Bennett has to take a share of the responsibility for the poor planning, and Alex Van Pelt for the poor quality (slop route running and stone hands) of WR play.

To bad it had to come to this, but I guess it had to happen. There are posters here at CHTV who would have done a better job calling the plays than Clements.

There are lots of posters here who THINK they could do a better job than Clements.

People just figuring this out now? Hey when the head coach h says there is going to be changed in the offensive scheme it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out. I mean they have an o coordinator who would make that decision based on play calling duties. Unless the coach takes that job away.

It's official now. Speculation and fact are different things.

Lacy left lacy right Dallas stacking the box, two runs and a pass. Ya that's the scheme. Gee wonder if Dallas is prepared for this.

Lacy Right, Lacy Left, Lacy up the middle. Starks right, Starks left, Starks up the middle. To the tune of 230 yds rushing against a good Dallas run D.

What kills me is it's the fans who say they can predict MM's playcalling who actually think "Run left, Run Right, Pass" is predicting the play calling.

I think lacy ran backwards a few times for a gain of a few yards too.

Never should have given it up. Where are all the people wanting this to happen last year. Lets go roll call everyone.
Now everyone is happy he is calling plays again.

Well, I wanted it to happen. Never would have thought Clements would be so bad at it. Mac picked him to do it and either choose poorly or provided inadequate training.
Anyway, if you are looking for people who need to own it when they are wrong you can start with yourself.

Unless there's more to it than just simply calling plays, I don't see how things will change if the players don't play better and become more consistent than before.
If it works - great. I'm all for it. Anxious to see if the blown timeouts cease.
If it doesn't work - I don't know what else to say. Players gotta be held accountable.

It worked. Great! And there is more to it than just calling a play. McCarthy is considered one of the best in the NFL by almost everyone. Well except for a small vocal minority of Packer fans it seems.

I must admit that I seen a different team out there. I don't really recall new plays/formations, but there was a different focus and energy out there. I vividly remember a run play on 3rd and 7 or so (I believe it was in the 3rd or 4th) that worked beautifully. I can say for certain that MM or TC would have been chewed out if it wasn't converted. But its plays like that that leads me to believe it's much more than simply play calling. By the way, that was during the time we had 4 or 5 consecutive 3-and-out punts. Just imagine what would have been said if Starks only gained a couple of yards on that play.
And where are those people who had so much to say about Lacy? Not about his play, but those reaching stories about immaturity and everything not related to football.

The only difference I saw tonight was that plays were being executed. Those huge runs are not called. There is no "30 yard run play". That was a pretty simple run that the players executed brilliantly. The passing routes were still deep and depended on single effort. RR lining up as the outside receiver??? Players made plays. That's it.

Players actually playing closer to their potential. It was nice to see for a change - wasn't it?

I thought the difference in play calling was striking.
Objectively, the use of personnel and some varied formations was obviously a big difference from what we've been seeing.
Subjectively, seemed like a lot better feel for the game.
I do agree with Drealyn however that none of it would make much difference if the men on the field didn't perform better, which they did.

Wow...
And we thought our RT or backups were playing bad (previously). Are some of you watching the Texans/Patriots game?
