Mike McCarthy: Brandon Bostick Not Anticipated to Play
The Packers tight end has not practiced in two weeks with a hip injury.
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy met with the media on Thursday in advance of his team's upcoming match-up with the Minnesota Vikings.
The following are select comments from McCarthy's press conference:
- On Clay Matthews' practice participation as he deals with a groin injury: Clay was limited. He was I don't know exactly how many reps, but he looked good today.
- On Matthews' move to inside linebacker opening up opportunties for others: Defense is a cohesive thing, so maybe the way the offense responds creates more one-on-one opportunities. We're going through our standard scheme concepts, and we're playing better and fitting together better.
- On the injuries to T.J. Lang and Josh Sitton: It's clearly week to week. T.J. and Josh clearly have different injuries. … We'll see how they respond. I couldn't tell you until after their medical meeting what their status will be for Saturday. … They're still getting their reps, just not their full-speed team reps.
- On division opponents: I think anytime you spend more time focusing on one opponent, you get more familiar with it. … Obviously two of the three teams have new coaching staffs.
- On Aaron Rodgers having success when blitzed: I think it's definitely a big part of it. I think like anything in the game of football … when you spend some time, the results need to come out of that area. … Our core, our tackles have a very good understanding of it. …. Aaron's ability to get the ball out and recognize … it's a big-play opportunity for the offense.
- On Nick Perry's shoulder injury: Getting better was what they told me. We'll get through tomorrow, and we'll see what he can do Saturday.
- On whether Brandon Bostick will play Sunday: I do not. I just watched Brandon move today. I think it'll be a long shot.
- On Packers players appearing in the movie Pitch Perfect 2: I got a free t-shirt out of the deal. I'm excited about it. I'm the only one who has a t-shirt in my house.

I'm hoping that Perry can play. He is a big reason why Clay is allowed to play ILB. If he can't play I would guess that they will start Neal and have Clay play more ROLB.

This year's TE draft class is awful. Give Bostick one more year.
