McCarthy To Sign Extension
Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Packers head coach Mike McCarthy is set to sign a contract extension.

Mike McCarthy is set to become one of the 10 highest-paid coaches in the league according to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
Sources with knowledge of the negotiations said McCarthy's new contract will average about $5 million per year.
In January, the club commenced negotiations with Trace Armstrong, the former Pro Bowl defensive end and ex-president of the NFL Players Association who has replaced Gary O'Hagan as McCarthy's agent. Armstrong works for CAA Sports.
The negotiations with the 47-year-old McCarthy also center on a three-year extension that will carry him through 2015. After five years, he has a record of 53-34 for a winning percentage of .609.
The deal will keep McCarthy in Green Bay through the 2015 season. (Incidentally, quarterback Aaron Rodgers is signed through 2014) Over that time, $5 million dollars a year for a Super Bowl winning coach who will most likely have the Packers in contention for a title year in and year out will seem like a steal.
Like most deals that Ted Thompson makes, this is a great deal for the Packers.

McCarthy hired a Chicago Bear as his agent?!

I was thinking the same thing, although I suspect the way it works is he hired CAA Sports as his agent and they assigned the specific person to negotiate the contract on McCarthy's behalf.
Strange world, strange season.

Hell, Murphy was a self proclaimed bare fan when we hired him... still makes me cringe. The man is tainted, I suppose if we win another ring or 3 I might start forgetting about it. Probably not though.

FIRE MIKE MCCA...
Well done, management. Crow never tasted better, and I'll gladly eat it for the next 4 years, hopefully more.
