McCarthy Doesn't Rule Out Bringing Tavecchio Back

The Packers three kicker competition appeared to not last very long, as the Packers cut Georgio Tavecchio Monday morning. That left newly signed Rookie Zach Ramirez to battle with Mason Crosby.

However, despite releasing him, Mike McCarthy said the following about Tavecchio is the post practice press conference.

Since he was released, Tavecchio would have to clear waivers before the Packers could hope to re-sign him if that ends up being their plan.

No way this this a cluster buckster. The new guy is the leader in the derby right now. Big guy, strong leg and cheaper, Crosby is not leading because of his big leg anymore. If Ramirez kicks equal he wins.

The new guy only has a few days to prove himself. If Cros can hold his own, like Harrell, they will keep him.
