Matthews To Miss Two Weeks

UPDATE: Mike McCarthy added new info for this post during his post practice press conference.

In a press conference this afternoon, Packers General Manager Ted Thompson indicated that outside linebacker Clay Matthews would miss "a few days" due to a hamstring injury. Thompson characterized the injury as a "tweak" but didn't seem to think it would linger or be a cause for concern going forward.

Matthews was slowed last preseason by a hamstring injury as well.

UPDATE: In his post-practice press conference, Mike McCarthy indicated Matthews would miss two weeks. He also indicated it was the same hamstring the linebacker had trouble with last year at this time.

Well, whatever Pepper Burruss set forth as protocal last year for rehabilitation seemed to do the trick. He's an outstanding trainer and I'm confident they'll be overly precautious again this year.

This is never a good thing, but to spin it a bit the depth chart will get plenty of reps on both sides in camp. Coaches will have more than enough tape/time to assess what they have on the roster. Also, Chiller is about to get some extended time at the position.

Yes, it's spin, but maybe the depth chart gets some solid reps.

On the other side, CM3 is only a second year player who has played most of his reps this camp at ROLB as opposed to playing at LOLB last year. He also hasn't looked great in practice (I realize it's games that count).
He could really use the reps.

How far away is my man Starks from seeing the field? Any word at all?
