Don’t you just love the first day of free-agency? I’ve read more ridiculousness in the last three hours than I had the last three months.
My favorite rumor making the rounds between Packer fans is that the Packers and Dolphins are working on a deal to send Jason Taylor to the Packers, supposedly for the Packers’ second and fourth round picks. And while this makes perfect sense, especially now that the Packers have an extra second round pick, it doesn’t seem to fit with Thompson’s ultra-conservative M.O. However, there’s a big difference between building a 4-12 team into a contender and then taking that contender over the top. Stay tuned…
UPDATE: Actually, looking at the terms of the Jets deal for Kris Jenkins (a third and a fifth), a second and a fourth for Taylor sounds like it’s in line with how the market is lining up for all the defensive linemen that will be moving in the next couple of days. Again, it hasn’t been in Ted’s nature to give up picks, but he’s never been an Overtime interception away from the Super Bowl before…
UPDATE 2: Hmmm…
