Expectations coming into the season:  Make the team as the primary backup at both guard positions and last resort backup at center. Needed to show improvement after not looking very good in limited opportunities last season

Player’s highlights/low-lights: With the offensive line fighting injuries all season, Taylor was called upon to start two games; week 13 vs. the Lions and week 17 vs the Vikings. In both cases, he held his own. Was called for an ineligible man downfield penalty against the Vikings.

Level of Expectations met:  Taylor disappointed in camp and  was inactive for the first 12 games of the season, having lost his game day spot to newcomer Josh Walker. When pressed into duty, Taylor performed as expected. He was assignmnet sure, adequate as a run blocker, and did not allow any sacks in his 155 snaps on the season.

Grade: C-

Player’s contributions to team success:  While a very small sample size, Taylor did not embarrass himself nor distinguish himself when forced into action.  Taylor was only active for four games, as opposed to last season where he was active every week and played special teams.

Grade: C-

Player’s contributions in the playoffs:  Did not see any action.

Grade: N/A

Intangibles/misc: Taylor is not very athletic, but he's an in-the-trenches battler, a good trait for a guard. He is probably better suited for a power run game scheme. Taylor is a restricted free agent.

Grade: C-

Overall Grade:  C-

I agree with the overall grade. The level of expectation grade seems like it might be a tad low. He did his job when it counted, and at about the level of a low end starter. He did allow a few pressures. I suppose that his poor showing in the preseason led the coaches to make him inactive early, so maybe the level of expectations grade isn't too far off. I'd give him a solid C for Expectations, but agree with an overall grade of C-.
