Kudos To Deshawn Wynn
By PackerAaron
Second year halfback Deshawn Wynn took a lot of grief last year from fans and pundits alike (including your faithful blogger) for his seeming lack of dedication and overall lackadaisical attitude. I, for one, thought the kid was done in preseason and was shocked when Thompson put him on the practice squad. Thompson defended the decision and Wynn in his presser at final cutdown, saying he thought Wynn was better than people thought and that he felt Wynn could still contribute when given the chance.
Boy was he ever right yesterday.
Called up from the practice squad on Friday after Kregg Lumpkin was put on injured reserve, Wynn simply stoned blitz after blitz that the Seahawks sent at quarterback Aaron Rodgers, including a fantastic pickup on the touchdown bomb to Jennings. All this on one day of practice and one walk-through. The average fan has no idea how impressive this is and I just wanted to draw attention to it, especially in light of how I belittled Wynn last year. For one week at least, he has shown that he at least belongs in the conversation when it comes to the Packers' backfield.

Thanks for bringing this up. Wynn did a fabulous job against the 'Hawks. He is a big reason for their success on third down.

It was impressive. He has been on the practice squad though - perhaps that is what he needed.

Definitely an unsung hero.
