Expectations coming into the season:  After spending most of last season on the Packers' practice squad, Walker simply hoped to make enough of an impression to make the 53-man roster or be kept around on the practice squad for another year.

Player’s highlights/low-lights: Was called upon twice as in-game injury replacements. Took over for an injured TJ Lang against the Rams and played very well. Had a nighmare of a time when thrown in at right tackle for an injured Biulaga in the Cardinals rout.

Level of Expectations met:  Well, he made the team and was active for 13 games, in effect supplanting Lane Taylor as the game-day backup guard. However, after that perfromance against the Cardinals, the Packers went back to Taylor and Walker was inactive. Playing out of position, I fault Mike McCarthy more than I do Walker for his Cardinals performance.

Grade: C

Player’s contributions to team success:  When put in at his best position, guard, Walker did well against Aaron Donald and the Rams' DL. Struggled mightily when thrown in at right tackle in the first Arizona game and had to be replaced after 20 snaps. Regstered 56 specisal teams snaps.

Grade: C

Player’s contributions in the playoffs:  Did not see any action.

Grade: N/A

Intangibles/misc: Taylor is the biggest lineman the Packers have and was a pleasant surprise in training camp. With Sitton and Lang both entering contract years, the Packers need to see if he is capable of replacing one, if necessary.

Grade: C

Overall Grade:  C

Good size, not much experience.
I'll take the wait and see approach with this kid.

Great size, good feet. Anyone who holds his own against Aaron Donald is worth a shot. Might be just a OG.

With another season of experience, he's worth a look at tackle. One game vs. AZ should not define him. I'd be curious to see how he turns out at guard.

Difficult to evaluate since he has had little playing time. He has the size, needs time to develop. Thanks. Since '61

I think that the Packers are looking for a Guard/Tackle swing man, kind of like Tretter. Walker did okay at guard but couldn't handle the tackle position so Taylor was given the chance. If your line is young and healthy then I can see us looking for this versatility. I worry that this approach may yield us an average guard and below average tackle player. We do need a road grader option to keep our run game moving forward.
