While Hurricane Sandy is causing havoc up and down the East Coast of the United States, even the Green Bay Packers in the safety of the Midwest, have not been spared.

Pardon the hyperbole. To be sure, the effects of those being evacuated and dealing with power outages out East are much more acute than some professional football team in Wisconsin.

But the impending surgery on Greg Jennings' injured groin, which was schedule to occur on Tuesday in Philadelphia, has been delayed, according to head coach Mike McCarthy during his weekly day-after-game press conference on Monday.

"I was just in the training room talking to (team trainer)Pepper Burris," said McCarthy Monday afternoon, "Greg is obviously delayed going out because of the storm. When exactly he will go, that has not yet been determined yet."

Not only is Jennings' schedule for surgery undetermined, so is his recovery time. Jennings told the local Green Bay media last week that while surgery would not end his season, there was no timetable for his return.

Jennings has been diagnosed with a rectus abdominal tear, which other media outlets have estimated a three to six week recovery.

The delay in Jennings' surgery once again calls into question, why did it take so long to get a second opinion and pinpoint the exact extent of his injury? Jennings originally pulled his groin in the season opener, and it has been a lingering issue ever since.
