Instagram Picture May Indicate Johnny Jolly Has Been Reinstated by the NFL

A photograph posted to the social media network Instagram shows Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly may have been reinstated by the NFL.

Photographic evidence posted to the social media network Instagram may indicate suspended Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly has been reinstated by the NFL.

Sent to me via a protected user on Twitter is a screen capture from the Instagram account "jjolly97"...

The "jjolly97" account on Instagram is private, and I have requested to follow but have not yet been approved. I have no proof that "jjolly97" is indeed that of Johnny Jolly, but there's no indication that it is not, either.

The letter appears to be on NFL stationary dated February 25, 2013 and signed by Adolpho A. Birch III, the NFL's senior vice president of law and labor policy. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has been copied on the memo.

Johnny Jolly has been suspended indefinitely by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Back in June of 2010, Jolly signed a one-year restricted free agent tender, under which the Packers would still retain his rights if reinstated.

Cheesehead TV will post more information as it becomes available.

Interesting...who knows what will happen with him, but I'd love to see him get a shot.

Heck yeah. He just turned 30 so he'd be younger and cheaper than Jenkins or Canty as well. Sure can't hurt to give him a shot if he's clean and in decent shape IMO.

And he'll be more motivated that anyone.

Yup. I'm pulling hard for this guy, on AND off the field. Even if he never plays another down, I just hope he stays clean and has a happy life.

Lots of people get mixed up in drugs. Doesn't make them bad people.

Totally agree.

How long has he been suspended? Was it 2 or 3 seasons? Seems excessive compared to shit other players do.

Hard not to get a chuckle out of his 'prayer, faith, patients' mention, though. :)

Definitely worth a look, but he has been out a long time.

Brian, you've been cranking it out today!

Jolly is a huge risk no matter how well he plays during OTAs. Say he plays well and lands in the 54 man roster, what are the chances that he stays away from trouble the whole regular season and post-season? I see him taking part in OTAs and the pre-season, and getting cut in the final 54 man roster reduction - assuming Mike Neal can stay healthy (I know that is a big IF). I think for Packers to take that big of a risk with Jolly the reward has to be equally high - over and above what Mike Daniels, Mike Neal and CJ Wilson can provide.

Jollys production would replace and far exceed Wilson and Daniels. He's a MUCH better run stuffer than Wilson plus he would add a toughness we sorely lack.

Wonder if he's stayed in shape the last year or so. I've said repeatedly a player like Jolly would do wonders for the Packers D. A tough, physical run stuffer supreme! Hope he's healthy mentally and stays clean for his life and hope the Packers give him a shot at an NFL career again.

Not typically the kinda player the Packers would take on the team, but its different when he's one of your own. Give him a shot Ted!

Well, at the very least, he should have fresh legs!

If he passes screen and physicals, all in favor say JOLLY. A low$ fill in. I still say go after another D line guy

I want to just say I'm really impressed with all of you, especially Stroh, for not taking the troll bait on the Canty write up! Great play, folks. I, for one like Tinkering Ted kicking these tires.
