I Suck
By PackerAaron
Thanks to commenter 'CounterPoint' for pointing out the following:
...its easy to see why fans and pundits alike say that infusing the secondary with fresh talent is a huge priority. I tend to think the Packers are better off at corner than at safety, and yes, both positions could definitely use an extra body or two. But much more pressing, in my eyes anyway, is the need for a pass rusher who can ‘win’ without Capers needing to scheme him free.
Simply put, yes, the Packers need someone to compliment Matthews. But they need SEVERAL players to shore up a secondary that allowed a bushel full of yards.
Not the egregious about-face I first thought when going back to read the original post, but enough to make me say "Step back and really think about it, Aaron".
Apologies for the whiplash. I tend to think my first post is probably closer to the truth. I'll try to slow down and stop instantly reacting to everything I read.

I think this deserves an even more throughout post comparing both needs, possible scenarios, and probable impact it would have on the Packers' 10' and 11' season.

But it's your blog...

Oh, together with assets available (FA, draft porspects, etc...)

But it's your blog, don't mind me...

We still love you.

I dont "love" you. I do however view you as "competent Packer People" and enjoy your takes and your dedication. You're human; people change their minds. No harm, no foul.

For what it's worth, I only recalled your earlier article because I thought it was a very solid stance. Also it came to mind when reading Vandermause's column, which makes basically the same argument.

You don't suck. You have very nice manners. ;-)

Thanks Counter. Clearly, I was aghast when reading Vandermause thinking we were having similar ideas... ;)

FITZCORE just wont admit it. It's OK.

While you are making them, any chance of you making a 180 on your stance that Colledge sucks anytime soon Aaron? Yeah, didn't think so. It was worth a shot I guess.

wgbeethree, Colledge was, indeed, 08's best lineman... He was the worst lineman of the 09's finishing lineup, so...

Aaron,
Don't see a contradiction at all. Us cynical bastards have a way of seeing through the cluter. Even though the cluter was most likely self-generated.

yeah colledge gets a lot of hate for last year and I just don't get it...other than his stint at LT (while he was hurt I may add) he played just fine. there is no way you can convince me that he was the worst lineman at the end of the year. Tauscher was terrible last year. For some reason everyone gives him a pass because the sacks happened to stop once he got back. That was merely coincidence. IMO it had much more to do with playcalling, Rodgers not holding the ball, and improved blitz pick up by the backs. Tauscher gave up more QB pressures than Barbre did last season in nearly the identical number of snaps(fact...look it up) and is arguably the worst run blocking RT in the league (opinion...but realistic)

Tauscher gave up 2 sacks... Colledge gave 7.5...

I'm sorry, actually 8.75...

Hey Aaron, been a long time since I have had time to bounce around and comment on your site...so I will just say:
"Consistency is overrated!"
I agree with you that the safety position is of more importance than the CB for us at this particular time. I think the addition of a stud safety gives more to our team than a stud corner. Harris might not be back 100% but I wouldn't be the one to bet against him.
