This morning at the Combine in Indianapolis, when asked about reports that Favre was upset that Ted Thompson had not phoned him or tried to reach him since the end of the season, Thompson said, “I just called to make sure he was doing fine, make sure he and I were OK. And we are.”As Steve at PackerGeeks points out, it sure sounds like Thompson had heard that Favre was upset and called to say “Hey, what’s up? Sorry I haven’t called. Been a bit busy grading out college prospects and getting ready for the combine and the draft, not to mention monitoring free agency, where I might have to bring in a veteran QB to back up Aaron Rodgers if you ever decide to get up off your freekin’ tractor and call me to tell me you’ve retired. Sorry that in all of that, I just completely forgot to call and stroke your very fragile ego, an ego so brittle it reflects your ability to quarterback my team in sub-zero temperatures. Hope all is forgiven. No, really, take all the time you need!”
OK, I apologize for the Gawker-ness of this post, but I have just about had it.
