Hyperbole Alert

It's early. I readily admit that. But is it possible that Ted Thompson has pulled off the greatest Packers pilfer of another team's player since Ahman Green was traded from the Seahawks for Fred Vinson and a 6th round pick? Ryan Grant arriving on the Packers roster for a paltry 6th round pick is looking like one of the best trades in Packer-lore, up there with the Green trade. (I would never suggest it's as amazing as the Favre trade - ever)

As I've stated, it's early. But if Grant continues to improve, and the Packers can ever settle on a stable offensive line, it says here Grant could be the next great Packer back. You heard it hear...well, probably third or fourth. But looking back over tape of the last 4 games, Grant is the real deal.

How about the DT we just nabbed on Waivers from the Vikings....Didn't we get Gilbert Brown that way?

Would be really nice to see this one turn out the same way!

The acquisition of Grant makes up for the 2nd round pick wasted on Brandon Jackson.

I would bet that both Brandon Jackson and Justin Harrell, both heavily criticized will have good impact with the team in coming years.

OK I am going to take back all the bad things that I have been saying about the Packers head office for the last two years. I have been bitching over and over that they were not building the team and making the moves to make the run now to the superbowl. It just did not look like they were being agressive enough in the free market.

Let me eat my words now. Thompson is a flipping genious. He has built a young team refusing to pay more then he had to that is making the run now. The head office knows what they are doing. That is why they are there and I am on a couch on Sundays.
