That doesn't look like Mike McCarthy to me.

Remember, Favre did this to the Packers last year. He called and said he wanted to play, they were gonna fly in and Favre cancelled at the last minute. He still came back.

i know it's a 'news story,' and there are sources, and we'll probably even hear from favre soon, but i'm not holding my breath either way, especially with statements like this:

"'Like anyone else, he could always change his mind in the future about retiring but I haven't heard anything from him that that's the case,' Cook said Thursday to reporters pursuing the Favre story."

what a load of crap. the more i hear of/from bus cook, the less i think of him.

even if nothing happens before the season starts, i'd say we're still a sage-acl tear and a major-dad-giving-up-again-on-tarvaris away from seeing brett in purple for at least a few games next season.

and that just made me think of how wonderful it would be to see favre get benched as a viking in favor of tarvaris jackson for the final 3 games of the season.

Do we have any other photos of MAC, from 1999? The angle of this photo somewhat sux. If that is McCarthy, then it's telling of how green he was as an NFL Coach. And, now it's not even a decade later? I'm bettin' he hasn't kissed a QB since.
