Mike McCarthy said at his afternoon press conference that the team would not be activating cornerback Al Harris off the Physically Unable to Perform list.
Where are you at with Al and Atari?
We’ll finalize that tomorrow. But Al Harris, I will not bring him up tomorrow. Atari I’m still looking at. It will be another week for Al.
Is that more physical or because of roster considerations?
It’s just when I think they’re ready. I’m sure they think they’re ready. But when it’s time for them to come up, it will clearly be the head coach’s decision.
Not being said here is the fact that if and when both Harris and Bigby are activated, a corresponding move must be made to free up those spots on the roster. My hunch is that McCarthy will hold them both out one more game and then bring them up during the bye week.
In other news, Cullen Jenkins at least participated in a small portion of practice. McCarthy indicated that they "pushed" Jenkins today in rehab and he seemed to respond well. Jenkins is listed as Questionable on the official injury report. If I had to guess, they'll keep him down another week but I only base that on the fact that McCarthy and this staff have been notoriously conservative when it comes to players playing through injury.
Ryan Pickett, meanwhile, did not participate in practice. While he is also listed as Questionable, his chances of playing don't appear good.
The lone bright spot among the injured was Donald Driver being listed as Probable after being a full participante at todays practice.
