Perhaps overlooked because the article was posted at JSOnline’s Packer Insider section that requires a subscription to view, but talk of an undefeated season has begun at 1265 Lombardi Ave.
Written by Rob Reischel of the Journal Sentinel’s Packer Plus publication, his reporting finds out discussion of going 16-0 isn’t something that’s just beginning now.
“We started talking about going 16-0 before the season even began,” safety Charlie Peprah is quoted as saying.
What’s maybe more startling is that talk of being undefeated isn’t limited to the locker room. It’s coming from the front office as well.
“That’s the plan. That’s the plan,” said Packers director of football operations Reggie McKenzie. “Our goal is to win every game … and I think we’ll have a chance.”
Now the debate begins. Is this the mindset the Packers are supposed to take? After all, the goal is to win every game, right?
Or are they putting the cart ahead of the horse, becoming overconfident and perhaps even cocky?
