Packers Calendar: Injury Report Due Wednesday, All Eyes on Matthews
By Brian Carriveau on Nov 21, 2012 with 9 Comments
The Packers return to practice on Wednesday after a day off on Tuesday in preparation for their game against the New York Giants on Sunday. Following practice head coach Mike McCarthy will hold a press conference at 1:00 p.m. that will be streamed live on the team’s official website.
NFL policy requires the Packers release an injury report beginning Wednesday and is usually announced immediately before McCarthy’s press conference.
All the attention will be on linebacker Clay Matthews and whether he’ll return to practice and be available for the Giants game. The guess here is that Matthews won’t practice until later in the week, if at all, but that’s just a hunch.
The status of a couple other players will also be of interest, including defensive lineman B.J. Raji, who was injured during the Lions game last week.
Packers guard Josh Sitton hosts his own namesake weekly radio program The Josh Sitton Show on Wednesday evening on 107.5 FM and 1400 AM “The Fan” WDUZ in Green Bay, which can be streamed live on the station’s website at 6:00 p.m. Central time.
The show is aired live from The Pine Tree Sports Bar & Grill at Thornberry Creek in Oneida, Wis.

Just heard McCarthy on NFL radio, said Matthews is doubtful, but there is an outside chance that Jennings will be back
The giants have a better offensive line than the lions it would be more difficult to generate pressure without Mathews in this game.
Clay is doubtful for the week. Bummer.
Seriously. I would have bet he would be back for this game…
If I were McCarthy and co. I would put a premium on key personnel in divisional games over conference games. I would rather take a 100% Matthews against the Vikings and shut down an 80% Matthews this week.
Agreed. It sucks, but you get the guy to 100%. No setbacks needed… Almost crunch time.
Yep. We gotta get ready for the long haul fellas! Plus….Moses is just startin to heat up!
Vikings are bad. Aliens are worse.
Clay “hammy” Mathews needs to have a Reggie White type miracle take place and heal his hammy over night
