Green Bay Packers 2013 Preseason Schedule Announced

The NFL released the 2013 preseason schedule Friday, and the Green Bay Packers will once again have a nationally-televised game.

The four preseason games for the Green Bay Packers in 2013 were announced Thursday.

The Packers will play three NFC teams for the first time since 1985, and will have at least one nationally televised game for the fourth-straight year and seventh out of the last eight.

CBS will carry the third preseason game, which is scheduled to have the Seattle Seahawks travel to Lambeau Field on Friday, August 23. The last time the two teams faced off, a controversial call at the end of the contest cost the Packers a win and signalled the end of the replacement officials.

Here is the rest of the Packers' preseason slate in 2013:

  1. ARIZONA CARDINALS, August 8-12
  2. at ST. LOUIS RAMS, August 15-19
  3. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS, August 23, 7:00 p.m. (CBS)
  4. at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS, August 29-30

Specific dates for the three other games will be determined at a later date. All games will be televised statewide on various networks.

A few thoughts.

1. I love that the Seahawks game is week 3. Should be a real test.

2. No Browns? I feel like we always play them.

3. How are the pre-season games determined?

Weird that they are playing three nfc teams especially when you consider those teams are all from the NFCW

I hope to never see those guys again. They would probably flag Arod for leading when he gets sacked.

To be honest,I don't think the back-up ILB are bad. They just don't get any real PT. Remember when Bishop and Hawk both were out (for a couple of weeks I believe) and Francois + Smith took over as starters? Turnovers by the LB corps increased. Now,they aren't as physical as Bishop, but they make it up with their pass coverage. The back-ups bring certain attributes that some of the starters lack and it's a shame Dom hasn't used or found a way to use them yet. Francois deserves snaps. If Lattimore has another nice showing preseason -- he deserves snaps.

Check out the Packers website under the gameday tab. I'm sure you can also find it here if you dig around a bit.
