Goodbye Indy
By PackerAaron
Well, it's been fun.
I'll have a lot more tonight and tomorrow, but right now I need to tear down, get back to the hotel, check out, get a cab to the airport and then have my flight delayed or canceled. Good times.
I did want to make one quick note about all the nice things everyone has said about me being here and the fact that I'm a blogger doing the work of the regular beat guys. I just want to say nothing could be further from the truth. Most of us have no idea how hard these guys work and how amazing they are at what they do. Being here has really given me an even greater respect for the work we are privy to as fans of the Packers. Are some of the beat guys stronger than others? Of course, but they each have their strengths as well. And you just have no idea how hard they work. It's extremely impressive.
So thanks to everyone for reading, commenting and chatting. I'll have more on Twitter throughout the day and still have one or two posts I'll get up eventually.
Thanks a million.

Echoing what Aaron said about how hard our Packer beat guys work and how good they are. That was one of the things that struck me often while in GB the past two seasons, first to write the book then to get out the word. Not to mention when I was pouring over all their coverage during the research stage. And they're all really good *writers* - they make good sentences look easy. Along with their talent, we're lucky to have newspapers that give these writers more *room* to be detailed and sophisticated than any other football-covering papers in the U.S.

Aaron, great job! And I can't wait to read your writeups!! I have a question, though. Before the Combine, lots of people were pegging Bruce Campbell to the Packers at 23. Now that he's had a great showing at the Combine, some people are saying that he is a workout phenom, and his game tape is not as good a la Vernon Gholsten. What say you? Were any of the reporters talking about Campbell?

Phil, I've finally read your book!! It was a great read!! I loved all of the anecdotes interspersed throughout recounts of the game...the only annoying thing was reliving those close losses! If only the Packers had their record this year for the year you were writing the book! When I was reading about the Carolina game, and the second Chicago game, it was like getting punched in the stomach all over again! But I really enjoyed the book, and I am glad that I had a chance to meet and talk with you! I hope there is another get together at Kettle of Fish soon!

Famous people from Appleton Wisconsin. Harry Houdini, Rocky Blier, Willem Dafoe, Greta Van Susteren and now Aaron Nagler. Congrats!

jersey - that's hilarious and hardly true, but very nice of you to say. I've met Dafoe a few times (my father was actually his homeroom teacher at Appleton East) he's a super nice guy.

Big Fan of Dafoe. To Live and Die in LA, and Boondock Saints are great movies of his.
