Gonzalez Traded...to the Falcons
By PackerAaron
Thompson can now officially cross trading for Gonzalez off his To Do list.
I mean really, if he's not going to bother doing the simple tasks I give him...I will say, however, that I think Thompson is wise to stick to his guns. A second rounder seems a bit much.

I guess it wasn't to Atlanta.
Everything is always too high. Everything, always.

This genuinely ticks me off. Not the way Thompson played it, I think it's impossible to fault anything he did given the situation he was presented with. But damn the Chiefs, man, if they'd stuck to their word and traded Gonzalez to us last year for a third we'd have a genuine field-stretching tight end for a couple of years to take a little bit of the load off Rodgers as he continues to settle in and to add a bit of veteran leadership to our young team. So close, yet so very very far.

A 2010 2nd rounder is a pretty cheap price if you ask me. A lot can happen in a year and for the premier tight end last year, this is a fair price.

Nah, even though the equivalent is this years #3...that's the odd thing. next years two is this year's three. What this means is that KC has enough pix this year and did not want another...probably. Now I would imagine we were in for this years #3 which is the Jets Brett pick....but Ted's territory is 2nd round, that would be crazy for an old guy with maybe 2 years left, even though he would have solved our red zone issues and mentored Finley....but its close, especially if our #2 is towards the bottom of the round....tough. I am sure we will hear more on this later. Too bad

GB would have had to beat the 2nd round price. That would have meant a 1st rd in 2010 or a 2nd rd plus. Tony G. would have been great in Green & Gold but for one year ??? or two ???
TE is not even a position of need at this point so why fret.
More receptions for GJ, DD, JJ & JN.
