Free Agent DL Chris Canty to Visit Green Bay Next Week

The Green Bay Packers will host free-agent defensive lineman Chris Canty early next week, according to Mike Garafolo of the USA Today.

FA DT Chris Canty will make a trip to GB early next wk. No visit w/ JAX set up yet but they’re talking. Hard out there for FAs right now.

Canty has already had had visits with the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs, and a meeting with the Jacksonville Jaguars could occur relatively soon. The Carolina Panthers might also be an option, as Canty is from the Charlotte area.

Canty, 30, provided three sacks, five quarterback hits and four hurries over 300 snaps with the New York Giants in 2012. At 6’7″ and nearly 300 pounds, Canty could provide length and pass-rushing ability at a current position of weakness for the Packers.
