Former Packers WR Named to Olympic Bobsled Team
Johnny Quinn, a former NFL wide receiver who spent time with the Buffalo Bills and the 2008 Pre-Season with the Green Bay Packers, will be going to the 2014 Olympics as a push athlete on one of the four man bobsled teams.
Quinn ran track in college, and after his football career stalled he began looking into other competitive sports.
Nick Zaccardi spoke with Quinn.
“My football career didn’t go the way I anticipated,” said Quinn, who also sprinted on the North Texas track team. “I knew I still wanted to compete. They look for former football players with a track background [in bobsled].
I’ve been on the other side of the fence when you get your name not called. I’ve learned getting cut three times that life moves on. I am very pleased, though, that my name was called and I get to represent the United States.”
