Former Packers FB Leach Cut by Ravens

Vonta Leach, who began his professional football career with the Packers for three season from 2004 to 2006, was released Tuesday by the reigning Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens.

The Ravens reportedly sought to trade Leach, but when they couldn't find a partner, they released him. Leach was scheduled to make in excess of $4 million this upcoming season.

Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome has not ruled out bringing Leach back, but the fullback's agent, Ralph Vitolo, recently told Fox 26 in Houston that he would be a fit with the Texans and listed three other teams Leach would fit, the Packers not among them.

The Packers, if they were to sign Leach or any other player, would have to make room on their roster. They are currently at the 90-man offseason limit after signing rookie free agent Terrell Sinkfield on Tuesday.

For as great as he supposedly is, due to varying circumstances, three well managed franchises have let him walk. All three managed just fine without him or without him playing a substantial roll.
