Former Packer Charles Woodson to Retire at End of 2015 Season

"2015 is going to be my last season playing in the NFL," Woodson said. "Was it a tough decision? Kind of in a way. But a couple weeks ago it hit me that this would be it. It's important for me to let Raider Nation know now."

Woodson won the Heisman Trophy while at the University of Michigan. He was drafted by the Raiders in the 1998 draft, and played with Oakland from 1998 until he signed with the Packers in 2006. Woodson returned to the Raiders after the Packers released him folllowing the 2012 season.

Great classy pro. Biggest mistake we made letting him go the way we did. Can't help but notice the contrast between him as a player and what went on in the Giants game.

Off topic: Relaxing in FLA after watching the WKU Hilltoppers win the Miami Beach Bowl over South Florida. WKU QB Brandon Doughty with over 5,000 yards for the season, two straight seasons of 4,000+ yards and 40+ TDs. This guy can play.

Interesting facts: WKU coached by Jeff Brohm, Brian's older brother. South Florida coached by Willie Taggart, former assistant to Harbaugh at Stanford and former WKU head coach. Harbaugh's Dad, Jack, coached WKU to the Div. 2 championship in 2002. Jim donated a lot of time and money to WKU back then. Jeff Brohm was a back up QB for the 49ers.

It's a small world.

Any chance that we can sign Woodson for the playoffs? Thanks, Since '61

He is among my top 5 most fun cornerbacks to watch who played for the packers. Woodson, Al Harris, Craig Newsome, Sam shields, and Doug Evans. Woodson being the best ive ever personally seen play the position. He will be greatly missed. Also he would make an amazing defensive backs coach.

Going out with respect instead of playing too long and fading away. From what I saw Sunday this guy could play into his 40s. I guess he has wine to make.

I'll never forget his locker room speech about the president. Classic.
