For The Die Hard In All Of Us

OK, admit it. You are still secretly holding out hope that the Packers could somehow stumble into the playoffs. I’ll admit I am, if only because, as someone pointed out in the comments last week, it will mean one more week with a meaningful Packer game before the long, cold winter sets in.

Rather than have you looking at schedules and trying to figure out what needs to happen to whom, Brew Town Beat has broken it all down nicely for you in a one-stop-shop for delusional Packer fans everywhere. (And really…isn’t that redundant?)

  1. The Vikings need to lose all three of their remaining games (at AZ, vs. ATL, vs. NYG).
  2. The Pack will have to beat the Bears in Week 16 and have Chicago drop one of its other two games (vs. NO, at HOU).
  3. Here’s the toughest part: The Packers have to win their remaining three games (at JAX, at CHI, vs. 0-15 DET). Detroit hasn’t won in Lambeau Field since 1991. Seriously, how is the NFL Network not flexing this game instead of Carolina?
  4. The Packers would then have a tiebreaker with all three .500 teams because of their 3-1 record in head-to-head contests.

Know hope!

  1. I believe the head-to-head record would then be 5-1.

We would be 8-8 and hosting a game as a division winner. Funny.

Get out your prayer beads, rabbits’ feet, four-leaf clovers, holy-water…

No worries – we beat them next Monday and then they lose to the Texans in Houston. Keep the faith!
