Finley, Kuhn, Bush Return to Practice Field for Packers

Tight end Jermichael Finley has been cleared for return from the concussion he suffered in the Packers' last game.

When the Packers returned to the practice field on Wednesday, they got about a 50/50 dose of good news and bad news with a handful of who sat out of Monday's practice returning to action and another couple remaining out.

With the return of John Kuhn and Johnathan Franklin, the situation at running back is looking a whole lot better for the Packers than it did just two days ago.

Combined with the return of Jermichael Finley, that should give quarterback Aaron Rodgers a decent complement of offensive weapons with which to work this upcoming Sunday when they face the Detroit Lions.

James Starks is the only offensive skill-position player still on the sidelines.

Head coach Mike McCarthy will give an update on the injury situation later this afternoon, including more information Clay Matthews and Casey Hayward, both of whom remain out with hamstring issues.

Haywards hammy reminds me of what Starks went through his rookie year. As I recall, Starks injured his hammy in training camp and didn't even play until 3 quarters of the season was gone. Why do I get the feelig that Hayward's hammy injury is just as severe.

Matthews was missing from practice today which doesn't sound good. In case nobody has noticed - this is a big game coming up this weekend.

According to Tyler Dunne, Matthews was limited today, not out.

The JS reported that Matthews was at Practice until installs began and then he went inside for treatment. Historically, that's meant they are a gametime decision. Availability tomorrow will be telling.

Finley took the high road concerning the hit that caused his concussion, blaming the hard landing and not the blow to the head. That's a pretty classy move from a guy that hasn't always acted in that manner.
