I liken BF's return to PackerLand as about the same as Yogi Berra's return to Yankee Stadium.
Only when The Pack has the time & desire to address the issue.

I think if the Packers were being honest about the marketing offer that they offered Favre last year, they have to offer it to him again this year. If it truly was a good faith offer and they were planning on doing it even before he tried to come back, they have to prove it now.
As far as I'm concerned, both parties managed the situation last year poorly, and I'll gladly welcome Favre back, since he didn't play for the hated rivals.

I don't know whether to sing or start laughing. This is hilarious. Let the bitter/awkward QB competition begin in Minnesota.
Anyone want to bet that we get the opposite report tomorrow, saying that Favre is coming back?

There's always next year. Any marketing deal contingent on a retirement as a Packer rights retained.

Woohoo! I can keep wearing my Favre jersey and will no longer hold him in contempt!
This also improves the Packers odds of winning the division.

I think everyone is missing the real issue here - we need to think about the victims of this long winded retirement. What will they talk about on total access?

Still mad. He's staying retired because HE IS TOO OLD. Not because he didn't want to play for them.

Don't think I'll be able to say forgive and forget. I still admire his performance on the field over the years but his behavior over the past two years has shown me that he is not worthy of my admiration off the field. Just cause he never slipped on a purple jersey doesn't mean this whole flirtation thing never happened.

That's nice! Now on to the 2009 season. No PR offer please! Han't anyone noticed the Packers have a Cash Flow problem? Spend any extra money on field talent.

I respect Favre even less as a person now. Why raise all this ruckus in the first place if you're not going to play for the Vikings?
If your spouse openly investigated leaving you for someone else and then came back and said, "Nah. It was a nice fantasy, but in the end it was probably not worth it..." would you take them back?
The way this has played out, he'll be talking about playing for the Vikings in 2017 and, fools that we are, we'll still be talking about the S.O.B. My new season's resolution as a Packers fan is to get myself some self-respect. No more Favre posts.

After the two-a-days are done and the Vikings break camp, THEN Brett will show up and sign.

I forgot to mention another imperative condition of the annual Favre-O-Drama that still may occur:
He may and he CAN wait until two weeks before the season to sign with MN because Childress/Wilf will still accept him -- ala the way MM and TT were ready again accept Favre back to GB in 3/07 and fly down and welcome him back.
The hypnotization spell is NOT over just because of what he said today because MN wants to win a Super Bowl like a heroin addict seeks a fix at midnite.

Yeah, I think so too. But Childress said so himself that this is over. So the vikings won't look for him even if he unretires. And if they do, the players don't want to hear about it anymore. The lockeroom already is a mess, it'll be even more if it is imposed that he gets to play midway through the season...

June 8th, 2009
---
Brett Favre had spent a long day on the tractor in the Mississippi humidity and his mind had begun to wander. He thought back over his time playing the game, earning the starting job with Mike, that Raiders game after he lost Big Irv, the playoffs in '96, record after record after record, the big throws he never thought about that sometimes came off and sometimes, well, not so much. And then 2008 with the Jets. How could he have done that to the team? The more he thought about it, the worse it became.
---
He parked the tractor in the shed, closed the door and turned towards the house. Through the front door and past Deanna reading her book on the couch. He picked up the phone and dialled a familiar number. A deep voice on the other end of the line gruffly answered and Brett began to apologise. He began to say sorry for the circuses he'd created, the continual search for attention, the unreasonable demands, the drama and the fuss. The impossible position he'd put the team in. He couldn't take it back but he could make it up. Is there anything, he asked, anything he could do to make it up? Anything between now and training camp?
---
Inside 1265 Lombardi, Ted Thompson grinned to himself as he held the phone. He had come up with a way to screw the Vikings one more time.

Like Hillbillie Herpes he will not be going away quietly:
The Packers kick off their three day mandatory minicamp on Tuesday which will be the last work the roster will get in as a group prior to the start of training camp.
