Favre Deal To Be Announced Thursday or Friday
By PackerAaron
That's the scuttlebut from Andy over at PackerGeeks.
Regular CHTV readers know that I've stayed pretty well far away from the whole Favre-thing here on the blog since he was released by the Jets (now on Twitter, well, that's a different story...) because I was pretty sure Favre would be a Viking by July and I would explore my thoughts on the matter then. Well, if Andy's "source within the Vikings organization" is correct, Favre is close to finalizing a deal with the team which could be announced as early as Thursday. If and when that happens, as promised, I'll have something to say.

Let's settle this thing on the field.

Fine! Maybe now our focus will be on the team and their performance. Who cares what that idiot does anymore.

I feel bad for Al Harris and Charles Woodson. We all know how Favre 'still has the arm' so when he lets those gunslingers go they're really going to slap into the hands of our DB's, probably get some busted capillaries.

I'm completely with AiA. I'm tired all of this wussy war of words and "he said, she said". Settle it on the field like men and let's have some fireworks with the Vikings games this year.

aaron. i have a feeling your response will catch us off guard in some way or another. either by its tone, or its delivery, but as much as i love roses and sunshine, i'm hoping you are getting ready to tear brett a new ... labrum tear.
i've already spewed my bit of venom over at packergeeks, and i know i'm grouping myself in with a whole mess of blowhards by expressing anger - and i'll spare this site the same nonsense - but damnit, it pisses me off and my therapist said i'm not supposed to suppress these sorts of things.
but in the end - the most reasonable view -- triple d, i have to hand it to you. i hope some young whippersnapper like matthews gets the first sack - but that kampman gets to run the fumble recovery in for the touchdown.

I would love to what happens next year when it will be fairly certain that he wont have enough in him to start anymore, then he will have to get some attention another way...

As much as most PackFans would love to settle the whole Favre Affair on the field, there are many reasons to fear the situation.
_____
With an injury-free season, A. Peterson will be the focus of the Vike's offense. A great RB makes any QB a little better. If somehow Chilly can convince BF of this fact & corral BF abit, the Vikes could actually be every bit as good as the hype.
_____
On the other hand, if teams can negate Peterson to a point & the Vikes have to rely on BF to pull out games, the Vikes could falter. The key will be jumping to an early lead against the Vikes. BF gets nervous when he's behind & seems to make more irrational decisions that eventually costs the Pack......er....the Vikes the game.
