One of the best plays the Packers have run since the Wolf/Holmgren/Favre resurrection has been the screen pass. Weather called by Holmgren, Lewis or Sherman, this play has been used to excellent effect for the last 10+ years.
I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but the screen plays that were called on Sunday were just brutal to watch. More often than not, the Viking's defensive line snuffed them out long before they had a chance to develop. Not to mention the fact that there wasn't a single back that made the right reads once they had the ball in their hands (although Wynn did an excellent job of faking a block and then opening out on a screen in the third quarter)
More than anything, this looks to be a part of the game McCarthy should be devoting a good portion of practice time to, if only because it could be a great weapon to have for a team without any kind of running game.
