Observation: First Brett was too busy studying his new playbook with the Jets to spend that much time talking about the Packers tendencies with Lions coaching staff. "Pure b.s." was his comment on the report when he texted Peter King. But now, Matt Millen, who was still the GM of the Lions at the time, knowing that Brett was playing for a new team and trying to learn the playbook (after all, he's got to have read the sports pages, he sure wasn't paying attention to scouting reports) thought Brett would have time to go hunting and called him about going and the conversation turned to Packers tendencies. And he didn't really give them anything ... So Brett didn't call the Lions - they called him. Anybody else see this sliding downhill? After all, the rumors of his retirement were 'just rumors' according to his text last spring. Sorry folks, I'm waiting for the next chapter in this. The one where he says he only gave away special teams tendencies.

Wow.

Watch Favre's press conference: http://www.newyorkjets.com/

He looks miserable. Here's what I think. I think the stupid quotes, Tony Romo, the Lions, are all results of him being really unhappy with the Jets. The players around him are nowhere near as good as they were last year, the Coaches are terrible (look at the offensive play calling). Wow, I actually feel sorry for the guy. I guess he got me again.

Time to retire, Brett. I think you've officially stopped having fun.

It's interesting that when favre decided to have his heart-to-heart with the media this summer he chose Greta VanSustren of FOX news. And now its fox coming after him...

I know this story is having less and less to do with football, but I like a good mystery. There's something good going on b/w fox and espn. That's the real story.
