Don\’t Look Past The Panthers

I understand the impetus for fans to look ahead to the Dallas game. It’s natural to see that game as the showdown for home field advantage in the NFC. And it very well could be.
However.
There are two games between then and now, the first of which is against the Carolina Panthers. Now, I realize most fans have already put a ‘W’ next to this one, but let me remind my fellow Green and Gold fanatics that there’s a reason they play the games. No team is an automatic win, not in the NFL. And there are many factors that could break against the Packers this weekend, the most troubling of which is the make-up of the offensive line. Word is that Wells and Spitz are the teams only healthy options at this point. So let me ask you this: Is Sunday’s game still an automatic ‘W’ if Alan Barbre is blocking Kris Jenkins? Or if Tony Moll is blocking Julius Peppers? Hmmm…..

McCarthy has to be preparing ahead, of course, but I’m not sure he should be talking about it. Might be good bulletin-board material for Carolina. In any case, I don’t need to do that post because Aaron at Cheesehead.tv has done it better than I could have. So just go here. [...]
