Don't Bet Against Al Harris

Be sure to check out the National Football Post today and in the weeks and months to come for video updates of Al Harris' rehab back from the devastating knee injury he suffered in the 49ers game this season.

When it happened, Harris said he'd be back in six months. People scoffed. Not Cheesehead TV. How quickly people forget this is the same man who asked doctors to remove his spleen after the Dallas game in '08 so that he could play in Tampa Bay the next Sunday. The man is a warrior and I will never, ever bet against him.

Go get 'em Al.

I hope things work out for Harris and the Packers. Things are not in his favor having suffered this kind of injury at his age. Harris has the character to make it happen if it is at all possible. I think his skills and veteran presence is worth keeping, even if he does not get back to his old self till mid season next year. At the same time if it is not meant to be I hope he leaves the game with dignity, with the Packer organization handling the situation gracefully.

Harris's work ethic has been beyond reproach by all accounts and he should get another shot at his job. But this type of injury is hard to overcome 100% particularly for a person in this type of position ... e.g. ask Brady.

You CANNOT stop this man. He wants to play football and the Pack better let him. Along with smart draft picks, I'm looking for Harris to rejuvenate the Defensive Secondary, which would be nice.

Go Pack Go!
