It appeared that some impulse took hold of MM in the second half that "just because Grant only got 2 yds per carry the whole last half, that this time he'll bust out for 40...or next time..." Favre resorted to forcing the ball, and that was game. As nice as it was to see DD have some good yardage...
It's just like W6. We tried so hard to give the game away, but the Giants are smarter than the Redskins, and decided to take it.
Dang.

Hi Guys,
Been listing to your podcast all year long- great job. I live in Asia so the only Packer fix I get is from you guys, and Itunes Packer replays.
I felt the Packers in the 2nd Half weren't the same team. They were waiting for the Giants/Manning to make that one big mistake versus trying to take over the game and make the plays like they have done before. You can blame coaching, poor play calling, etc, but give the Giants credit for coming in and not giving up. To me this hurts less than the SB loss or 4th and 26, only because this team arrived about 1-2 years earlier than we had imagined. As far as Farve, despite the last interception, he gives us the best chance to win everytime he is on the field. He didn't need to force that play, but that same route has led to touchdowns before for us.
Sorry the season has ended, but I'd go through Packer withdrawal had they won the Super Bowl too. The team should be very good next year.

I'm sad, just sad! Stayed up till 4:30am last night here to watch the game and I bearly got some sleep before work. Now I'm still shocked and can't really understand, how the Giants were able to stop the Packers the whole second half and OT :-(

We got beat in the trenches. They stopped the run and we couldn't get pressure on Manning with 4.
That being said, we got beat by a very hot team. Manning played a great game. If he makes even one mistake, the Packers win. But he didn't. And Favre did.
We're very close. We need Oline and CB help. We need a little more depth on the Dline. Jared Allen would look very good in Green and Gold.
This is a very young team. The journey is just beginning. Keep the faith guys. We have the best young coach in the league, tons of cap space and a GM that can really spot talent.
Things are looking up.
When is the first mini camp???

I want to post something poignant but all I feel is sad.
I knew we were in trouble when Favre had restless presnap hands in the first quarter. They kept trying to find their way back to his warming muff while he was doing his reads. I think he and McCarthy both had a lack of focus.
So sad.

I just feel sick.

This is not the way it was supposed to end. I feel like my heart has been ripped out and I've been kicked in the stomach. This defeat hurt, real bad.

Yes, it stinks.
Credit the Giants' D-line for stopping our run. Credit Al Harris for making Burris look like Don Hutson (hey, where was his help?). Credit Manning the Younger for gutsy, near-flawless play. Credit Giant's karma for being more appealing to Fate than decades of Lambeau tradition.
But hey, all that aside, it's been a GREAT year!
