Dom Capers And the 3-4

I got a chance to ask Dom Capers about the defensive transition and he didn't disappoint. I asked if he planned on evolving into a pure 3-4 defense over the next few years or if he liked the idea of being what he will have to run this season, which will undoubtedly be a hybrid of the 3-4 and 4-3. Capers stated that offenses really get defenses into their sub packages on first downs more than ever, with multiple receiver sets forcing the defense to come out in nickel and even dime on first down. He went on to say that he liked to be as unpredictable as possible which just about made my day. Look for a lot more looks and unpredictability on the defensive side of the ball...

"Unpredictable I love that word." I'm counting on his talents to make this work.

As long as unpredictable doesn't mean ineffective (or as I call it "Bob Sanders Syndrome") then I can't wait to see it in use!

That is what I was hoping for when he was hired.. mix the calls up and give them looks that will keep them guessing.

Good stuff..

With the QBs and decaying OLs in our division, I cant wait to see what kind of unpredictable pressure Dom can come up with, it should all work shouldnt it?
