Desmond Bishop Should Be Ready for OTAs and Minicamp

In an article by Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Monday, Desmond Bishop's agent, Blake Baratz, spoke about Bishop's recovery.

"I think he’s 85, 90%. I’d have to ask him but he’s getting there. He’s getting there. I think he’ll be fully cleared for all of the off-season stuff.”

In a season filled with numerous injuries and inconsistent play by the defense, Desmond Bishop was sorely missed. His return could help shore up the middle of the defense, one of the Packers' weaknesses in 2012.

Dunne notes, "Bishop has been aggressive with his rehab" but the Packers might show caution and slowly re-introduce Bishop to full activity.

Fantastic news. A healthy Bishop in 2013 will go a long way toward shoring up the defense.

Bishop is one of the few players on the Packers D that is really physical and aggressive. We need another one or two like him from the roster or draft to have that same physicality. IMO, thats what the Packers D is sorely lacking.
