Culpepper News Explodes Across Packer Nation…

Wow.

People have some pretty strong negative feelings (check out the comment section) about the Packers brining in Dante Culpepper for a visit. Look, do I like Culpepper? No. Do I think he’s anywhere near the answer? No. Is his arm-roll celebration beyond annoying? Of course.

But lets all calm down, shall we? The man has started in the NFL and won many games. He has a rocket arm. He…well… is not as bad as Kelly Holcomb. Yet. If the Packers can sign him to a low-risk, low-money contract, why the hell not? And the other thing people forget, and I will keep reminding them, is that Mike McCarthy ran a Top-Ten offense with Aaron freekin’ Brooks as his starting quarterback. Culpepper is twice the QB Brooks was at any point in his career.  Let’s give McCarthy a chance to work with the kid and see what he can do. Signing him now does not mean he will be on the roster on opening day.

Culpepper = Vikqueens = Yuck.

Sorry, I just can’t go there. I’ll support him under protest.

I agree he can ride the pine..if we need him he might have enough scence to adapt to the real mean green..Still not a favorite..But he has a arm and we have weapons…

I’m less concerned about Culpepper coming to visit than I am concerned about having to face Jared Allen twice each season. That’s going to be tricky.

Holly, did you miss the Chiefs game? Allen did almost nothing against Clifton. Not worried in the least…

That’s true about Allen against Clifton…I would really be scared if the Vikings got Alfonso Boone….let me rephrase that..Daryn Colledge would really be scared…

Culpepper would be a great back up for us…. at least third qb on the roster as long as Aaron doesn’t get hurt I’ll love to have him, but then again if Aaron does get hurt an can’t return it’ll be return of the super 4.
