Continuing the theme started by Patrick Crayton in August, the Cowboys defense is talking up how they were not “ready” for Aaron Rodgers when they faced him last November. Now they’re ready.
Right.
Look, I know there’s some truth to the old football axiom that the backup-off-the-bench can provide a spark for an offense and that the defense is never prepared to play the backup. But in this case, Rodgers simply played better than Brett Favre the last time these two teams faced each other. And all the precious film they have on Rodgers won’t help the Cowboys cover Jennings, Driver, Jones, Lee, etc.
Which brings me to something else: I am done with all the “How will the Packers stop the Cowboys offense?” talk. Did anyone see the game Monday night? You know, the one where the Eagles marched up and down the field on this incredibly overrated Cowboys defense? And this was with the likes of Greg Lewis and DeShaun “Bonehead” Jackson catching the passes. Needless to say, I’m glad no one is asking “How will the Cowboys stop the Packers?” because it will make it all the sweeter when the Packers put up 30+ points on them.
