Could The Packers Host the NFL Draft?

The draft moved from its previous home of New York City to Chicago recently, perhaps Lambeau Field could be in the future mix.

Ya and where would the fans stay. A real lack of hotels in GB. Not happening ever. GB too small.

It's not the SB, it's the Draft.

Yes! Providing that they have an appropriate venue and can handle the logistics required to accommodate the crowd and transport the additional press and league entourage. Thanks, Since '61

After Green Bay finishes up the Titletown District that would make a perfect place to hold the draft. Possibly why they aren't going to have a chance until 2019. NFL wants them to finish it first?

It would be awesome to see the NFL Draft in Green Bay.

I'm a big believer that the NFL Draft can and should be brought to Green Bay. There are many great reasons to have the NFL Draft in Green Bay, but there are some complications.

Hotels seems to be the #1 issue, and I think the way the Packers solve that is by including a bigger area than Green Bay. There's a lot of camping that can be done in Oshkosh (1 hour away) for those that want to go that route, there's a lot of mom-and-pap stores in Door County (1 hour away) for those that want to go that route, and Wisconsin Dells (2 hours away) has the water parks for those that want to go that route. Obviously, the Packers are now working on more hotels here. I think when you include these other areas, and package deals could be done to encourage people to say go to Noah's Ark and the NFL Draft, there are enough hotels. All of these locations are easy to get to as well as you just take the highway.

I think there is also a pitch to be had that because the NFL refuses to come to Green Bay for a Super Bowl, the NFL Draft would be a great event that could be brought here. In the past, the venues have been small in New York and Chicago, and we have those venues in Green Bay if that's the route the NFL wants to go, but I think it would be a lot cooler to open up Lambeau Field with the history and start players off where the NFL basically began. Besides, the Packers deserve a reward for all of our upgrades where other teams get Super Bowls when they upgrade or build a new stadium. The NFL Draft in Green Bay makes a ton of sense.
