Colts Re-Sign Former Packers QB Matt Hasselbeck
The Indianapolis Colts have signed former Green Bay Packers quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, according to an official Colts.com reporter:
The @Colts have agreed to terms with quarterback Matt Hasselbeck on a one-year contract extension. No worry on a backup quarterback for 2015

Hasselbeck played for the Packers in 1999 and 2000 before being traded to the Seattle Seahawks and eventually ending up with the Colts. He's 39 years old and will back up Andrew Luck.

Even now provided a reasonable salary he would be a terrific backup to Rodgers. I will never forget how competitive he was in Green Bay, when Holmgren brought the Seahawks to Lambeau for his first time, Hasselbeck was the holder on the field goal team, the Hawks blocked the kick and Shawn Springs ran it back about 70 yards for a TD, Hasselbeck chased him the whole way and then pushed him out of the end zone just before he was going to celebrate, the 15 yards was worth the unrelenting chase. We got drubbed that night in the wind/rain and that was about the only exciting play for the Packers.
