All I can say is...THIS..... IS THE GREEN BAY PACKERS!!! Get used to it! Until AR and CM stop making STUPID commercials AND (get rid of the GIRL FRIEND) and FOCUS on foot ball....this is what we get! FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS. Oh yeah, I think we need a new play caller too. :)

As ugly as the game was, RELAX. All the talented rookies and UDFA's...it takes time. In the NFC there is Atlanta and everyone else. So it's shaping up nicely for the Green Bay Packers.

Face it guys, our team, for the first time in almost a decade, is thoroughly mediocre on both sides of the ball. An excellent team finds a way to win both of the last 2 weeks. A good team maybe splits them. But everything went wrong from the jump today, and the Green Bay Packers, couldn't will themselves back into the game.

I knew the game was over when ARod threw that pick. The defense couldn't get a stop when they needed to all game. The last drive was pathetic on defense. Again.

I'm not calling for heads. Anything can happen in today's NFL. But good grief this team is hard to watch. I would not be the least bit surprised if this team misses the playoffs though. And if that happens, there will be BIG shakeups in the offseason.

Laying an egg at home in front of the Packer Faithful against the &%#* Colts. This team has never recovered from the loss to the SeaHawks in the NFC championship game. It's time for Regime Change!

So what can we do now? I'm a pretty practical guy. It's unlikely we get rid of MM mid-season. It's unlikely that they sit AR. Who can you make an example of now to light a fire under everyone? - the WR coach. I don't know anything about the guy but how many times do they show the replay of AR stretching out the play and the receivers are just dancing in place instead of scrambling around hard.

Nothing can be done. MM needs the wake up call, and to look at himself which will never happen . He is the problem. I'm not so opposed to 5-11, his firing, and a high pick. It's one thing to lose tough games and have bad games, but all of our losses have been self inflicted, some so horrendous I do not see us recovering this year. Need to stop this season's slow torture. Even if we make the playoffs MM will only mean another heart breaking end. Time to stop the insanity.

Yeah, that doesn't help.
To be fair on the 1 third down play he hits Janis right in the hands and he drops it. Would have been a huge play. Should have been caught. Can't blame Rodgers for that one. The others yes.

Can't really say whether it's MM's fault or if ARod is just not executing the game plan. Is he audibling out of good plays? Is he holding the ball when the play design requires a quick pitch. Rodgers threw bombs when the chain moving shorter passes were there. And he didn't want to run for the firsts like last week. Hard to tell who's at fault until one or the other tells us something - and that ain't likely.

I think when the MM - Arod era comes to an end we're going to find out what a huge disconnect there was between the two. Seems like they're in a power struggle and the fans are the ultimate losers.

Good: Clinton Dix (minus the missed sack), 4th quarter offense. Our season isn't over by this loss.

Bad: first 3 quarters offense, the decision to use Rodgers and Perillo more on offense and Davis and Allison less.

Ugly: opening kickoff and kickoff coverage!

I can only comment on majority of the 1st half since I didn't finish the rest of the game, but this is what I remember:

- Ty looked good running the ball and the O-Line did a fantastic job. Is Ty out of shape or should we really limit his carries? I only ask because he seems to check out of a series after 2 plays or so.

- Rodgers missed Nelson deep and Janis dropped one deep. It's plays like those two that we just can't get right. The difference makers in games. I have no problem with those passes.

- Rodgers pocket awareness. Ahhh. Isn't it beautiful?

- I liked the Defensive timing/pre-snap movement
(HHCD 1st INT and HHCD's sack)

- I think Joe Thomas is deserving of an increased role. Ryan just isn't gifted enough to cover the middle (trailing or zone). He's OK when he's zoning flats, but when he's manning up on an actual route or dropping into a zone vs a slot WR/TE -- uh uh.

- Cook can't come back fast enough.

- I don't remember much pass rush from the front-4.

- Oh yea, and if Brice wasn't an UDFA and Burnett wasn't a 3rd round pick -- Brice would be stealing some snaps.

No I - don't think Thomas needs a increased role. He was on the field and was playing soft in the middle. Has not done a thing in any of the losses. The guys in the booth even commented on Ryans good play.

The Ugly: Once again, GB deferring after winning the opening coin toss, Indy scores on its 1st possession, then AR throws an interception to open the 2nd half. Tell me? WHY does GB always defer when they win the coin toss? It hasn't worked out well all season!! Grrr...

Mojo's picture

November 06, 2016 at 11:59 pm

Why I prefer the defer.

1.) D should be as uninjured and fresh as any point in the game after the opening KO.

2.) If your opponent does score on the first possession, you'll never have more time to make it up.

3.) You stop the opponent it's as if you stole the opening possession.

4.) It gives you the opportunity to inflict the double whammy on your opponent by scoring at the end of the first half and again at the beginning of the second half. Demoralizing to the opponents D.

5.) It gives the OC the opportunity to review at half-time how the D is playing them and look for favorable matchups.

6.) If the offense executes the opponents D should be more worn down in the second half when most games are decided because they've had to defense an extra possession

Of all the points made above, I believe number 2 is the most important. If I'm behind and I believe I'm better, give me more time to make it up.

I'm in the defer camp.

A-rod is not seeing the open receiver. He used to go through his progressions better than anyone. Now he locks in on a single receiver and does not see the wide open one. It's weird. In the past, A-rod was good enough to carry this team. Now that he is mediocre/bored/scared/whatever we see how mediocre the whole team is. Hate to say this, but I think Hundley should play some. McCarthy and the offenseive coaches are weak are predictable. This team is not fun to watch. A coaching change at the end of the year would be good.

Well, we can be sure AR isn't mediocre or scared. Bored? Oddly enough, that is possible.

AR really has nothing else to accomplish. He has a championship and a MVP. if he retired today he'd have the highest career QB rating ever. My personal opinion is that AR is tbe best QB ever (although Starr will always be my childhood favorite). AR makes plays and throws that Brady, Manning, Montana, etc. can't even imagine.

However, AR also seems like a person who will be perfectly happy with life after football. It's difficult to imagine him sitting in a booth or a studio doing weekly analysis. He'll find other avenues to interest him.

After a while extremely intelligent and talented people get bored/become frustrated dealing with people not at their level. It's the same feeling you get when someone has 30 lottery transactions in a convenient store with five people in line behind them. If your transaction takes longer than 30 seconds you shouldn't be in a convenient store.

You may spit on MM, you can spit on TT. But the yesterday game was ugly and I am hurt as all of you are because of players who played that game...
There is no excuse for soft and unprepared game, there is no excuse for arogancy Packers players (they are not team, obviously) were playing against Indianapolis Colts...
I think it is obvious that something strange is happening inside Packers team. Is it players strike against MM &/or TT, is it fight between Aaron and Mike McCarthy? There is no way that MIke McCarthy would call 3 times in the row hail mary throws. Not in triple coverage, not to Jordy. We may not like MM, but he is not fool. He knows Jordy is not old himself when we are talking his speed. To many stubborn tries for deep ball while 1st down is available, I think I counted 6 or 7 times. To many 3 and outs. There is no excuse for no points on 2 INT. There is no excuse for not forcing running game...
Packers team should see many, many changes. Sooner - better...

I totally don't understand AR's thought process. "Gee, I can't even make a short throw, so guess I'll heave it to the other side of the field and cross my fingers." for gosh sakes, hit a few short throws, get a few first downs, get the players pumped and build on the momentum!

really not much there. Maybe HaHa, Schum for not sucking as much as he usually does,

The Bad:
Effort. The Team. The Squirrel outrunning everyone.

The Ugly:
Long throws when one needs 6 yards or less for a 1st down. QB1 ignoring open WRs all night long just because he doesn't "trust" them. McCarthy's halftime facial expression. Commercials at the start of a game, missing the opening score. Matthews and Rodgers commercials. the list goes on...

It was only three to four weeks ago everyone was saying how great our D-line was. Best against the run. The secondary has been decimated by injuries, so that D-line has to help them by pressure on the QB. They haven't done it. And they haven't done it for a number of years. And when you can't do it against a bad offensive line like the Colts, your true colors stand out.

This team has little to no speed anywhere. Secondary, RB's and receivers. Speed kills. The Packers can't kill anybody now. MM has grown stale. The offensive and defensive systems haven't changed for years. There has to be a major change at the GM level down to the waterboy.

MM has no one's ear. Receivers can't get open Denver showed everyone how to play the Packers. The model is out there and they can't adjust. Sick of hearing how great Clay Matthews he would not be allowed to do this on other teams suck it up. Defense stopped run for a while but they don't seem to tackle well enough, basics are just not there. Again I live in Boston can't stand the Pats but they just show up and do their job god I hate that expression. New regime is needed and where is Jared Cook guy you are playing for your next contract. Bite the bullet and get on the field.

Good: OL played well again to no avail, Squirrel apparently got away!

Bad: Gunther, Pass rush, Coaching - lack of effort and preparation, AR our leading rusher again plus AR throwing long on some convertible 3rd and short.

Ugly: Middle of the field open all day on defense,
Janis as a WR, Defense can't make stops at the end of 2nd half or 4th quarter as usual. Special team kick coverage.

Lack of a running back hurt in this game. We're too one dimensional and with Monty and Cobb on the sidelines way too often our other receivers just aren't good enough. We should be cutting secondaries to pieces with the way our OL is protecting Rodgers.

Thanks, Since '61

Good. The squirrel in the end zone teacing packers, prtend like youve been here before.
Bad. Play calling and use of personnel. Janis is never going to develop getting two passes a game.
Ugly: Dix out of position twice to get two intercepts. Had he been covering his guy he wouldnt have had them.
Punting 40 when your opponent is doing 60.
God awful lack of pass rush, pass defense and linebacking.

The above isnt the pack playing a poor game its the pack showing who they really are.

I never have been a fan of MM, every year there seems to be problems. Poor tackling, penalties, poor execution,
lack of motivation, overall poor leadership. One positive, he does seem to organize a good bowling outing. All the examples I mentioned reflect on the head coach, it his job to put a good team on the field.

The bad they actually had to show up and play and did they ever mail it in right from opening kick

The ugly tackling and blown coverage and how did MM spin this one as I did not see press coverage long time fan but seriously doubt the leadership. Keep hearing how good the line is or defense is, couldn't run it couldn't stop the Colts on d unless easy pick even then guys were open. sorry to say 8-8 if lucky
