Cheesehead TV Matchup: Wild Card Offense

  • Attack Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

And yes, I'd be saying this even if he was fully healthy.

Rodgers-Cromartie has been spoken of as one of the best young up-and-coming corners in the game. While I think he has truckloads of athletic ability, I don't share most NFL observers opinions on the second year corner. And I'm pretty sure that Packers coach Mike McCarthy shares my view.

A lot was made of how the Packers attacked Rodgers-Cromartie's replacement, Michael Adams. I'm here to tell you - they would have been throwing over there if Rodgers-Cromartie was in or not. Like I said, the kid has talent, but he's not good at breaking down in space and making a tackle, which makes him very susceptible to the backside slants that Rodgers loves so much. The Packers quarterback will have plenty of opportunities as Rodgers-Cromartie is also not a fan of playing up in run support, meaning the quick bubble screens to Jennings, Driver and Nelson to the outside on the perimeter will be there as well.

Finally, you can bet the mortgage that you will see what happens here at the 2:50 mark at least once.

Aaron, can't agree with you more.DRC is a
gambler,so take advantage. If you look at the play where he was injured, you'll see he grabs inside of his knee,(medial meniscus). So now lateral movement is difficult and painful. This is the NFL,not
light midgets.Let DD and GJ burn him for a
couple of TD's,they take him out,and do the same to Adams. We win,and that's all that matters. Good Job,Pal.

Couldn't agree more. He's not a willing tackler which means lots of diving and grabbing and Jennings and Driver will make him pay for not wrapping up

alfredo has a valid point. All Aaron needs is that extra half second,a quick chip and
run by JF(on the linebacker)Jackson stays
back to tag the corner and/or safety, and
now there's DD,GJ,JN,JJ and JF running into
and through the defense.Who's on who? I like our odds very much, thankyou !!!

You are absolutely right! I watched the preseason game and had to listen to AZ's announcers. It was great! They started out calling him "DRC" and then as he got burned again and again, they started calling him by his full name. It was like when your Mom uses your middle name...so great! This guy reads too many of his own press clippings.

Can't agree more about Finley. I think he may be the key to a SB run. He makes a defense honor the middle of the field, in turn helping the WR's. Zona has nobody like that.

As long as the turn over ratio (+31 against Zona) holds true, we should be fine!

I really don't know what the hype is all about DRC. Everytime I saw him play, he was beaten. Why did he make the pro bowl again?

Hey,Jersey I hadn't heard that.Fantastic.
Time to start thinking about spending some
serious coin and wrapping up these young
future superstars to long term contracts.
AR,GJ,BP got theirs,I'm afraid that AJ,AK
AH,NB and JJ won't get theirs for a variety
of reasons.Have to do Collins and Bigby STAT.

All the press I've read on DRC has pointed out that he's been giving up plays to WR's all year long. There's no question the Packers were/are planning on challenging him.
.
Did I mention how excited I am that post-season Packers football is underway again?! Go Pack!!

Dilligaff, saying that the Packers' ability to expose DRC in coverage is canceled out by Jarrett Bush is a testament to true depth of our secondary.
.
DRC is one of the starting CB's for the cards, while Jarrett Bush is the Packers' number SIX CB being forced into service as a nickle back. Imagine what the #4-6 CB's for the Cards must look like if pressed into service in as a nickle?
.
Hey, just for the record, I believe it was LeRoy Butler on the last Packers' Transplants who echoed my sentiments about Bush- For a guy who was never really expected to see the field as a CB this season, he's been playing better than people give him credit for.. Let's just hope that the Packers keep safety help over the top of Bush and put him in good position to succeed throughout the play offs.

Idaho, nervous is probably not the verbiage
that I personally would use... Anticipation
is more like it.Starting to get butterflies
exactly the same as when I played long ago.
