Charles Woodson is accustomed to helping others. In addition to helping his team win its fourth Lombardi Trophy, the leader of the Packers defense covers charity work with the same ease as he shuts down opposing offenses.

On Monday, Woodson visited stroke patients at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Woodson is teaming up with the hospital as part of a Stroke Awareness Month campaign.

"I believe that I can help in some kind of way, whether it be making people aware or just being around, a presence and maybe bringing a smile to someone's face," Woodson said.

Woodson's appearance is part of a long string of charitable efforts. Through the Charles Woodson Foundation, he regularly donates his time and money. Last year, he donated $2 million dollars towards the construction of a new children's hospital at his alma mater, The C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan.

As long as the offseason keeps players busy paying for proms and promoting worthwhile causes, maybe the lockout isn't so bad after all.
