Burnett Has Broken Hand, Could Still Play

Packers safety Morgan Burnett broke his hand in practice yesterday during a blitz drill but should be available to play and will be listed as Probable heading into this Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams.
Meeting with reporters after practice, head coach Mike McCarthy indicated that Burnett hopes to play with a cast on his hand. Meanwhile, McCarthy said undrafted rookie M.D. Jennings took all of Burnett’s snaps in practice today.
In more positive injury news, right tackle Bryan Bulaga practiced for the third straight day and has an excellent chance of returning to the lineup on Sunday.
Also in on the positive side, Greg Jennings, Charles Woodson and Clay Matthews all returned to practice.
Meanwhile, interior lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith did not practice and is listed as Questionable.

He’s on the IR.
Collins was put on IR two days ago when they signed Dominguez from the practice squad.

Im not to worried about it yet I want to see him play with it I mean it could be worse he could be on IR and least he will have the cast off in 3-4 weeks

Not too worried. Cullen Jenkins showed last year you can play with this type of injury. Burnett will probably have more difficulty supporting the run however.

I would say put Burnett only on passing downs.
The next opponents are the Rams, and Vikings before the bye in which then Burnett’s hand should hopefully be uncast.
If the Packers are going to be as good, as they are on paper, the only games we will need Burnett healthy is the San Diego game and the game against the Lions on thanksgiving.
Can’t help but chuckle. Saftey has got to be the thinnest position on the team and its just got thinner. Typical.
Couldn’t happen at a better week though! The Pack could outscore the Rams if we put ten defenders on the field all day. Would be very interesting to see MD Jennings get snaps.

Smart $$$ would say that he’s not ready to take snaps from the Walden, plain and simple. With Zombo back his chances get slimmer. Vic will see the field when Dom deems the time is right.
