Bowl Game Pro Prospect Watch: Hawaii Bowl

Hawaii has a trio of wide receivers who are all pro prospects–Greg Salas, Kealoha Pilares and Rodney Bradley.

One of the best parts of the college football bowl season is watching the guys who are going to play on Sundays in the very near future.

Here at Cheesehead TV, we're attempting to list all the senior pro prospects (even the longshots) and a couple very highly rated junior ones as well, as a de facto viewing guide.

Hawaii–Friday Dec. 24, 7 p.m. on ESPN

Hawaii

  • Wide receiver Greg Salas–Salas is Hawaii's all-time leader in receiving yardage, not bad for a team that's known for it's passing attack through the years. One of the players passed on that list was Dolphins receiver Davone Bess. Salas was second in the nation in receiving yardage per game with 128.8. He's the top prospect in this game and is probably a mid-round draft choice.
  • Wide receiver Kealoha Pilares–Salas has the height at 6-2, but Pilares (at 5-11) is smaller and quicker and is best after the catch and can make things happen with his speed. He scored 15 touchdowns this year and was in the top 10 in the nation in both receptions (7.3) and receiving yards (108.8) per game.
  • Wide receiver Rodney Bradley–Hawaii is so deep at receiver, they have three potential pro prospects. Tony Pauline of Sports Illustrated thinks Bradley can be a sixth- or seventh-round draft choice and writes, "Nice sized receiver who shows the ability to stretch the defense vertically."
  • Tackle Laupepa Letuli–Letuli is the 47th-ranked offensive tackle in this year's draft class by NFL Draft Scout. Earned second-team All-WAC honors.
  • Guard Adrian Thomas–Along with Letuli, Thomas was also a second-team All-WAC selection. Together they helped Hawaii become the Hawaii lead the entire nation in passing this season. He's the 61st-ranked guard by NFL Draft Scout.
  • Safety Mana Silva–Led the WAC with eight interceptions, which helped Hawaii lead the nation with 23 total interceptions.
  • Running back Alex Green–He wasn't a starter prior to this season but he earned second-team All-WAC by rushing for over 1,100 yards this season and scored 18 total touchdowns. He was named the WAC player of the week in his game against New Mexico State when he rushed for 327 and three touchdowns on 19 carries.
  • Cornerback Lametrius Davis–Ranked as the 88th-best cornerback by NFL Draft Scout.

Tulsa

  • Running back Charles Clay–A halfback-fullback hybrid, Clay projects to a fullback in the pros. Ranked as the 3rd fullback in this year's draft class by NFL Draft Scout and could be a mid- to late-round draft choice. Has good receiving skills with 2,018 career receiving yards and 21 touchdowns.
  • Defensive end Odrick Ray–Has five sacks this season an earned honorable mention All-CUSA honors. Ranked as the 64th defensive end by NFL Draft Scout.
  • Linebacker Tanner Antle–Was honorable mention All-CUSA when he had a career high 79 tackles this season. He's the 79th-ranked outside linebacker by NFL Draft Scout.
  • Punter Michael Such–The 14th-ranked punter by NFL Draft Scout.
