Having just said the Packers need to 'keep it simple', I still think fans should expect a healthy dose of the new 'Big Five' formation this Thursday against the Lions.
With the Lions putting Indrees Bashir on Injured Reserve, the NFC North's second-place team has been weakened further in the place they have been most vulnerable - the defensive backfield. Bashir was not a game-changer by any means, but he added veteran depth for a squad that was already hurting, with Fernando Bryant having been injured the week before against Arizona. Seriously, I would not be surprised to see the Packers five wide receivers on the field together for more snaps than ever before. After Travis Fisher, the Lions don't have a corner that can cover Ruvell Martin, much less Jennings or Driver.
